Job summary

Qualifications

• Familiarity with CMMS, preferably AiM.
• Experience in customer service and working with the public.

• Professional experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Job description

The University of Iowa department of Facilities Management is seeking a Supervisor, Custodian Services to provide general supervision, coordinate, supervise, inspects results, and be responsible for the work activities of custodians in accordance with established guidelines in the Second Shift Service Area.

This position is scheduled to work Monday to Friday, 4:30pm – 1:30am, overtime required.

Duties To Include

• Understand all employee work assignments and schedule for adequate coverage.
• Complete 4 hours of administrative time and 4 hours of cleaning time per day. When necessary, complete additional custodial work assignments.
• Interview, select, train and evaluate staff. Provide coaching and direction. Take actions related to promotions and discipline as appropriate. Assist with the training of new employees and retraining as necessary.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain safety standards to assure compliance with federal, state, local and University Regulations.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Two years of custodial experience or related building and facilities maintenance, including supervisory experience for a minimum of six months; supervision to include assigning daily work activities, inspecting and monitoring quality or work, and scheduling and coordinating work activities.

Special Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy Standards
