Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to head the Commercial Claims team in New Jersey. You will oversee a team of Commercial Line adjusters, drive process improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor staff across CA, BOP, and CPP lines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external partners, maintaining accurate personnel records, and delivering training and evaluations to maintain high-quality claims handling, with hybrid onsite/remote work options.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Commercial Line adjusters
• Interact with internal and external business partners
• Maintain accurate and complete personnel records
• Mentor Commercial Representatives and Commercial Specialists
• Oversee day-to-day operations and workflows for the Commercial Claims team
• Guide staff with coverage determinations for CA, BOP, and CPP commercial lines
• Oversee claims and laws in multiple jurisdictions and intercede on individual claims as appropriate
• Participate in internal claim committee reviews
• Conduct file reviews for quality, accuracy, best practices, and adequate reserves
• Ensure compliance with liability laws, regulatory reporting requirements, and customer handling requests
• Instruct, counsel, and direct staff on procedures and responsibilities
• Review complex claim matters, emerging issues, and new policy forms
• Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Liaise on claim-specific, procedural, or special requests and suggest or implement final resolutions

Requirements

• AIC Designation
• Relevant work experience in Commercial General Liability required
• State licenses as required
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• College degree preferred
• Ability to work onsite three days in the office and remotely up to two days a week
• Availability to work 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
