Role Description The Supervisor, Automation Maintenance Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Plainfield, IN. This role oversees daily maintenance activities for automated material handling equipment and systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and safety. Responsibilities include planning and assigning maintenance tasks, monitoring equipment performance, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and leading troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues. The supervisor guides and mentors maintenance technicians, enforces safety and compliance standards, collaborates with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime, and maintains accurate documentation of work orders, repairs, and equipment histories. This role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications

• Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, workload prioritization, and performance coaching.
• Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair for automated or industrial systems.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and control/automation issues.
• Knowledge of warehouse automation systems, conveyor technologies, and material handling equipment is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA standards in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and basic data analysis for maintenance metrics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Typically requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience in logistics, distribution centers, or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
