Job summary

Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLC seeks a part-time Supervisor to oversee Oakland Ice Center operations. You will supervise staff, maintain the ice surface, and manage deliveries and safety protocols during shifts.

The role requires flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a strong focus on guest service, security, and efficient event support. SSE emphasizes teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must wear SSE assigned uniform during all shifts.
• Ability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late nights.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and guests
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Must be able to perform essential functions that are physically demanding.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees and ensures shifts are staffed.
• Maintains ice surface and uses edger and resurfacing techniques.
• Handles all deliveries to the facility.
• Assesses building maintenance needs and repairs daily.
• Assists with event operations, birthday parties, and private ice rentals.
• Assists with close-outs, bank deposits, and making change.
• Counts and secures funds at shift start/end.
• Inventory of keys and radios before/after shifts.
• Ensures policies and customer service standards are followed.
• Knows emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
• Ensures facility cleanliness and security after close.
• Performs additional duties as required.

TITLE: Supervisor

POSITION TYPE: Part Time - Non-Exempt

COMPANY: Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLC

LOCATION: Oakland Ice Center

REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

Pay Rate: $25.57 per hour

Position Summary

• Operates the facility and supervises employees under the direction of the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Supervisor Lead. Must know limits of jurisdiction and when to refer and defer to management.

Shift Information

• You must be available to work 2/3rds of each month, including early mornings, evenings and weekends with holidays.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for ensuring that shifts are sufficiently staffed.
• Responsible for maintenance of the ice surface, including use of edger and correct resurfacing techniques.
• Responsible for handling all deliveries to the facility.
• Evaluates building maintenance needs and repairs daily.
• Assists with event operations, birthday parties, and private ice rentals
• Assists with close-outs, bank deposits, and making change
• Counts and secures all safe funds at the beginning and end of each shift worked.
• Inventories Oakland Ice Center keys and radios before and after each shift.
• Ensures that all employees are practicing excellent customer service, and that all policies and procedures are properly implemented.
• Knows emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan.
• Ensures the overall cleanliness of the facility.
• Ensures Oakland Ice Center is secured and locked at the end of each business day.
• Performs additional duties as required.
