Job summary

Placer County Community Development Resource Agency is seeking a Supervising Code Enforcement Officer to oversee the enforcement of short-term rental ordinances and other code cases in the Tahoe City area. The role includes managing staff, planning and directing work, and handling complex enforcement issues.

  • Possible possession of a valid driver's license; CERTIFICATE of Arrest, Search, and Seizure may be required within 12 months of employment.

Job description

The Placer County Community Development Resource Agency is accepting applications forSupervising Code Enforcement Officer to fill one vacancy in Tahoe City, CA. This position isresponsible for enforcing short-term rental ordinances in connection with the regions 3,400+vacation rental properties and also some traditional code cases.

The Supervisor level recognizes positions that perform full, first-line supervisory responsibilitiesincluding planning, organizing, directing, assigning, and evaluating the work of subordinatesand is responsible for a section within a work unit or a division. The Supervisor level isresponsible for the most complex or difficult code enforcement cases.

Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium: This position is eligible for salary plus up to an additional$1,100 per month Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium for employees who are permanentlyassigned to a position located in the North Lake Tahoe Area.

Experience

Three (3) years of responsible journey level experience performing duties similarto a Code Enforcement Officer II in Placer County.

Training

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Note: Relevant, equivalent experience (performing the same or similar job requiring similarknowledge, skills, and abilities) may be substituted for the required education as determinedby the Human Resources Department. Applicants receiving their degree outside the UnitedStates must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency.

Required License or Certificate
  • May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
  • Possession of a valid certificate of completion of Penal Code §832 Course in Arrest, Search, and Seizure issued by California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training to be obtained within twelve (12) months of employment.
