Job summary

Lumiere Children’s Therapy Chicago is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to design and oversee behavior analytic interventions for children with ASD and related needs. The BCBA will supervise ABA Therapists and RBTs, and collaborate with Speech, Occupational, and other therapists to implement comprehensive treatment plans.

You will train staff, analyze data, and ensure progress via regular documentation while engaging families and schools.

Qualifications

• BCBA certification required.
• Master's degree in ABA or related field.
• At least three years of experience working with individuals with autism.
• Knowledge of autism assessment tools and child development.
• Experience developing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs across communication, social, play and daily living domains.
• Ability to travel independently to rural/remote locations.
• Strong communication with clients, parents and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Use VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R or AFLS and data to develop and implement individualized behavior analytic treatment plans.
• Monitor and modify treatment plans based on observations and data; provide supervision and feedback to ABA Therapists.
• Maintain documentation and prepare reports.
• Ensure treatment plans comply with contract requirements, standards and insurance.
• Coordinate with families for recruiting, training, and retention of ABA Therapists and RBTs.
• Coordinate with the Lead BCBA to address treatment plan aspects thoroughly.
• Plan generalization and maintenance of skills across settings (including Parent Education).
• Conduct assessments and summarize findings (Preference assessments, Functional Analyses, FBA).
• Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Promote interagency collaboration and professional growth activities.
• May perform other duties; respond to emails daily; SOAP note completion within 48 hours.

Job Summary

The primary function of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavior interventions to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The BCBA also consults with and teaches ABA Therapists and other therapeutic team members (i.e., caregivers, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, etc.) how to implement behavior analytic strategies; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and monitors progress regularly by analyzing data. The BCBA manages the child’s ABA Team and provides ongoing training and direct supervision to team members.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct supervision for ABA Therapists or RBTs who deliver direct ABA services to clients
• Direct and indirect supervision for individuals accruing hours for his/her BCBA or BCaBA fieldwork

Duties / Responsibilities

• Use appropriate assessment tools (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R or AFLS) and data to develop and implement individualized behavior analytic treatment plans
• Monitor and modify treatment plans based on direct observations, therapist or parent feedback and objective data collected by therapists or parentsProvide supervision and deliver feedback to ABA Therapists to improve implementation of ABA Therapy
• Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare reports as required.
• Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements, professional standards and insurance requirements. Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic records across clients and supervisees.
• Coordinate with each family and to complete appropriate recruiting, selection, training, and retention of ABA Therapists and RBTs.
• Coordinate efforts with the Lead BCBA to ensure that all treatment-related aspects of each ABA Treatment Plan are addressed thoroughly.
• Plan for generalization and maintenance of skills across settings including Parent Education sessions
• Conduct assessments and summarize findings as needed, including: Preference assessments, Functional Analyses, Functional Behavior Assessments, etc.
• Participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) team meetings for clients as appropriate.
• Promote positive public relations, facilitate interagency collaboration, and advocate for the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive services.
• Participate in professional growth activities such as professional development meetings for ABA staff, team meetings and booster training sessions as needed.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
• Respond to emails daily

Education and Experience

• Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
• A Master's degree in ABA, special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders
• A minimum of three years of recent experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorders
• Knowledge of autism assessment tools and procedures, and thorough knowledge of child development.
• Experience developing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs across the following domains: communication, social skills, play skills, visual/perceptual skills, activities of daily living and vocational skills.
• Knowledge of current methods and techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial Teaching; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, parents, and professionals; competence in analyzing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs, and monitoring progress
• Must be able to work effectively as a team member, demonstrate flexibility and desire to learn new skills and improve professional qualifications, and travel independently in rural/remote locations.
