Job Summary

The ABA Therapist will provide direct instruction to individuals with Autism based on treatment plans and feedback from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The ABA Therapist will collect data on programs, apply program updates, and communicate regularly with a BCBA regarding behavior intervention strategies and teaching methods.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
  • Follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior intervention protocols, including toilet training protocols
  • Record data on observable client behavior
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA
  • Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Assist BCBAs, ABA Apprentices, and fellow ABA Therapists/RBTs with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
  • Prepare client materials prior to therapy sessions as instructed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
  • Train and provide feedback to new ABA Therapists during on‑site shadow sessions
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings with BCBAs and/or ABA Apprentices
  • Respond to emails daily
  • Complete same‑day SOAP notes
  • May perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly
  • Effective time‑management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co‑workers, supervisors, and client families
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development related to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology necessary for job responsibilities
  • Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols
  • RBT certification (plus)
  • 1–2 years of experience with Autism or developmental disabilities (plus)
  • On‑site in our clinic with some home‑based therapy; we need an in‑home client in the 60707 zip code
  • Day shift, potential availability on Saturdays
  • Mandarin, Cantonese, or Taishanese speaking is a plus
