A leading local government agency is seeking a Supervising Auditor Appraiser to oversee auditing and appraisal processes for personal property tax assessments. Candidates should have significant experience in auditing, strong qualifications in accounting, and a commitment to accurate assessments. This position offers potential flexibility in schedules such as teleworking after probation and requires timely application submissions.
Auditor Appraisers perform a variety of duties related to the investigation, auditing, and appraisal of personal property for tax assessment purposes.Supervising Auditor Appraiser is the first-line supervisory level job class with the day-to-day responsibility for an assigned area of activity in the Personal Property Division. The Supervising Auditor Appraiser class differs from the lower class of Senior Auditor Appraiser in that the latter class functions as a lead worker over a group of subordinate Auditor Appraisers and regularly performs varied advanced journey-level auditing and appraisal work.
NOTE:9/80 and telework schedules may be available after completing probation.
Minimum QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, training, and experience likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities for this class as described on the job announcement. Typical ways include:
Either 1. One year of experience performing the duties of a Senior Auditor-Appraiser in Sacramento County service
Or2. Two years of experience performing duties of an Associate Auditor-Appraiser in Sacramento County service
Or 3. Three years of experience performing the duties of an Auditor-Appraiser II in Sacramento County service
Or 4. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in accounting
AND
Four years of experience within the last ten years performing duties equivalent to an Auditor-Appraiser (Level II) or above in Sacramento County service, or equivalent service in another California county assessor's office as described in the definition and examples of duties for that class.
Note: The California Board of Equalization defines a “specialization in accounting” as a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education with successful completion of one of the following:
