Job summary

Boom Supersonic in the United States is seeking a Compressor Design Engineer to shape the front end of the Symphony propulsion, from concept to certification. You will design, optimize, and test high‑performance fan and compression systems and collaborate with aircraft designers, test engineers, and systems leads.

You’ll own areas such as High Pressure Compressor, Low Pressure Compressor, or Fan, applying CFD and meanline modeling, developing maps, and contributing to toolchains that integrate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages.
• Design experience in axial turbomachinery (meanline and 3D steady and unsteady CFD).
• Ability to navigate CAD to support module integration.
• Experience with high speed compressor airfoil design and tuning.
• Experience working with engine cycle analysis tools such as NPSS or PyCycle.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork to build consensus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Symphony compression system and own areas like High Pressure Compressor, Low Pressure Compressor, or Fan.
• Design airfoils and flowpath via CFD analysis.
• Develop 1D meanline models, design blading for airfoils, develop performance maps, run rig tests, assess as-built hardware.
• Analyze rig and engine test data and recommend actions.
• Contribute to developing and integrating toolchains and processes for multi-disciplinary workflows.
• Participate in all aspects of Symphony engine development and Overture propulsion system integration, including fabrication and testing.
