Position Overview

As a Superintendent, you will play a significant role in the success of Kiewit. You will function as a field supervisor overseeing construction project operations and may have responsibility for multiple foremen and/or laborers/craft workers. Your responsibilities include organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship, and assigning work to accomplish project goals, either directly or through general foremen or foremen. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects/engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

Location: This position will be based on one of our Water or Wastewater projects in New York and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee construction operations on the project as a field supervisor.
2. Mentor and help develop junior superintendents and other direct reports.
3. Review and approve the labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers.
4. Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings.
5. Develop and maintain good client relations involving staff on site.
6. Attend meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning.
7. Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
8. Review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
9. Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover.
10. Maintain daily reports and logs for record keeping.
11. Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports.
12. Recommend organizational, policy, procedural, and staff changes as needed.
13. Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen.

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of construction experience, including at least 2 years in a superintendent or leadership role supporting construction operations.
2. Experience with water and wastewater treatment or process plant construction projects.
3. Self-starter, highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
4. Quick learner of policies, procedures, and software programs.
5. Problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract administration experience.
8. Willingness to travel as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:
