David E. Looper & Company is seeking a Superintendent to lead on-site operations for student housing and multifamily projects.

You will drive safety, quality, and scheduling while coordinating with Project Leadership to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. The role requires 3+ years of superintendent experience on commercial builds, with strong reading of plans and proficiency in scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• Identify risks, conflicts, and schedule impacts and implement solutions proactively.
• Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for owners, consultants, inspectors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Oversee daily reports, project documentation, photographs, and closeout deliverables.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Assistant Superintendents and field personnel.
• Support preconstruction planning, site logistics, material coordination, and budget alignment activities.

Position Summary The Superintendent leads all jobsite operations for student housing and multifamily construction projects and serves as the primary onsite leader responsible for safety, quality, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. This position partners closely with Project Leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with DELCO quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all jobsite operations and field personnel.
• Develop, maintain, and drive the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and monitor performance daily.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications.
• Identify risks, conflicts, and schedule impacts and implement solutions proactively.
• Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for owners, consultants, inspectors, and project stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of superintendent experience with demonstrated success leading commercial construction projects preferred.
• Experience leading student housing, multifamily, or large-scale wood-frame construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Expertise in scheduling, look-ahead planning, sequencing, and trade coordination.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale ground-up student housing or multifamily construction projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred.
• Advanced safety certifications including OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR are preferred.
• Demonstrated success training and developing field leadership teams.
