Austin, TX
Build the schools that serve one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.
Central Texas is growing fast, and school districts across the Austin area are investing heavily in new and expanded campuses to keep up. My client is a well-established commercial general contractor with a strong record of delivering K-12 projects for school districts (ISDs) across Central Texas.
They're hiring an experienced Superintendent to lead new-build and renovation school projects from their Austin office.

- Steady, bond-funded public work with repeat district clients and a strong backlog
- Local projects across the Austin metro, including Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, Kyle and surrounding areas

What you'll do
- Lead daily field operations on K-12 projects, including elementary, middle and high schools, plus additions and renovations
- Plan and sequence work around school calendars, including phased summer work and occupied campuses
- Keep sites safe, secure and separated from students, staff and the public
- Supervise subcontractors and field personnel, driving look-ahead schedules to hold the critical path
- Check work and materials against the contract documents and the company's quality standards
- Work closely with district representatives, architects, inspectors and the project management team
- Manage inspections, punch lists and closeout, ready for the first day of school
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of commercial construction field leadership experience
- Superintendent experience on K-12 or other education projects valued at $20M or more, delivered through a full project cycle
- Experience on public projects, and familiarity with Texas CMAR and CSP delivery methods
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, quality standards and jobsite safety
- Working knowledge of Procore, scheduling software and Microsoft Office
- OSHA 30 and a strong safety record
- A degree in Construction Management is preferred but not required - strong hands-on field experience counts
Nice to have

- Previous work with Central Texas districts such as Austin, Round Rock, Leander, Hays or Georgetown ISD
- Experience leading assistant superintendents and field engineers
