Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. For more than 45 years, we have built projects throughout Florida in hospitality, multifamily, industrial, healthcare, and public-sector markets. Our work is guided by our GRIT values—Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Team—and a culture built on doing right by our people, trade partners, and clients.

The Opportunity

As a Superintendent III, you lead our most complex, high-profile, and demanding projects, including occupied renovations, phased healthcare projects, hospitality developments, and projects with sensitive operational requirements. You are entrusted with assignments where experience, leadership, and sound judgment are critical to success. In addition to delivering exceptional projects, you mentor junior field leaders and help elevate construction operations across the company.

What You'll Do
Project Leadership
  • Lead all field operations to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project documents.
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel.
  • Mentor junior superintendents and support field training initiatives.
  • Manage project startup, closeout, change order pricing, and small-project estimating.
Scheduling & Coordination
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Produce schedule updates and short-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate trade partners, project logistics, and site activities on occupied or constrained projects.
  • Collaborate with Virtual Design & Construction teams to resolve constructability and coordination challenges.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment.
Quality & Client Service
  • Lead quality control efforts and pre-installation planning across all scopes of work.
  • Coordinate inspections and maintain compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, permits, as-builts, and Procore records.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and inspectors.
  • Support project closeout and warranty activities to ensure long-term client satisfaction.
Safety Leadership
  • Champion Hedrick Brothers' safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct and document weekly safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, signage, PPE, SDS records, and emergency-response resources.
  • Partner with the Safety Department to identify and resolve hazards promptly.
  • Investigate incidents, complete required reporting, and coordinate with company leadership as needed.
What You Bring
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience managing complex, phased, occupied, or technically challenging projects.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop field teams.
Certifications & Licenses
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • AGC Supervisory Training Program (STP) completed or willingness to complete.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong client-facing skills and commitment to quality and safety.

This position is primarily based on active construction sites and requires standing, walking, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain for extended periods. Team members may be exposed to weather, noise, dust, machinery, and other jobsite conditions. The role occasionally requires lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to safely operate in active construction environments.
