Job summary

SL Recruit is recruiting for a Superintendent to lead field operations on large base build or high-end interiors/tenant fit-out projects in the DC Metro area. This direct-hire role offers long-term stability with a reputable GC known for quality work and strong client relationships.

You’ll drive daily site operations, manage look-aheads and scheduling, coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety and quality programs, and collaborate with PMs, architects, owners, and inspectors to resolve issues

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Superintendent on large base build projects or high-end interiors/tenant fit-outs.
• Strong scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control abilities.
• OSHA 30 certification and commitment to jobsite safety.
• Experience with Procore or similar project management software.
• Clear communication and leadership to manage trades and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout.
• Build and manage the project schedule, including look-aheads and sequencing.
• Direct subcontractors and self-perform crews, enforcing schedule, safety and quality standards.
• Run a safe jobsite and implement safety and quality control programs.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, owners, and inspectors to resolve RFIs and changes.
• Manage inspections, punch lists, and project turnover.

SL Recruit is partnering with a well-known and highly respected general contractor in the DC Metro area to find an experienced Superintendent. This is a direct-hire opportunity with an established firm known for quality work, strong client relationships, and the way it treats its field teams.

Who we’re looking for

A Superintendent with experience on either large base build projects or high-end, high-value interiors and tenant fit-out work, who wants a long-term home with a GC that has a reputation worth being part of.

What you’ll do

• Lead all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout
• Build and manage the project schedule, including look-aheads, sequencing, and trade coordination
• Direct subcontractors and self-perform crews, holding them to schedule and quality standards
• Run a safe jobsite and enforce safety and quality control programs
• Work closely with project managers, architects, owners, and inspectors to resolve field issues, RFIs, and change conditions
• Manage inspections, punch list, and project turnover

What you bring

• A proven record as a Superintendent (typically 7+ years) on one or both of the following:
• – Large base build projects: ground-up and major building construction
• – High-end or high-value interiors and tenant fit-outs, including occupied buildings, phased work, and demanding finish standards
• Strong command of scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control
• OSHA 30 and a commitment to jobsite safety
• Comfort with Procore or similar project management software
• Clear communication and the leadership to manage trades and field teams
