Job summary

Scott Humphrey has partnered with a top-tier commercial general contractor to identify an experienced Commercial Ground-Up Superintendent. This role leads high-profile ground-up projects from sitework through turnover, driving schedules, safety, and quality in a fast-paced Dallas–Fort Worth market.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in superintendent roles on ground-up commercial builds, $10M+ projects, and proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor.
• Proven experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $10M+.
• Strong knowledge of means, methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up commercial projects from site development through completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to meet milestones.
• Drive schedules, sequencing, and look-ahead planning to hit deadlines.
• Enforce safety standards and promote a zero-incident culture.
• Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Oversee inspections, punch lists, and quality workmanship.
• Collaborate with PMs, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Trade Partners.
• Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and costs.
• Manage site logistics, manpower, materials, and QA processes.
• Maintain daily reports, RFIs, and field communications.
• Foster a professional, accountable, and team-oriented jobsite culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up commercial construction projects from site development through project completion.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain production goals and project milestones.
• Drive project schedules, sequencing, and look-ahead planning to ensure critical deadlines are achieved.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain a culture focused on zero incidents.
• Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and OAC meetings.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and oversee all inspections and punch-list activities.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Trade Partners throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize schedule impacts and cost overruns.
• Oversee site logistics, manpower planning, material deliveries, and quality control processes.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, RFIs, inspections, and field communications.
• Champion a professional, accountable, and team-oriented jobsite culture.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor.
• Proven experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $10M+.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain aggressive project schedules.
• Experience with sitework, foundations, structural systems, building envelope, and interior finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is preferred.
