Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking a Project Superintendent in Houston to lead on-site construction for complex facilities. You’ll drive daily field operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality across multiple trades.

You will coordinate with project managers and owners, maintain schedules, and oversee inspections from groundbreaking to turnover, delivering projects on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience leading ground-up construction projects.
• Experience with Healthcare, Manufacturing, Aviation, Industrial, or Large Commercial Facilities.
• Strong scheduling, site logistics, sequencing, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day field operations from site development to project closeout.
• Direct subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure quality and safety.
• Maintain and drive project schedules, identifying delays and solutions.
• Coordinate activities with PMs, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
• Lead meetings and ensure documentation, inspections, and turnover are completed.

What You'll Be Doing

As the lead on-site representative, you'll be responsible for driving construction activities from groundbreaking through final turnover.

• Lead all day-to-day field operations from site development to project closeout.
• Direct subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Maintain and drive project schedules while proactively identifying and resolving potential delays.
• Coordinate construction activities with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
• Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and daily planning sessions.
• Monitor quality control, site logistics, manpower, and production goals.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documents to identify and address issues before they impact the project.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Oversee inspections, punch-list completion, commissioning activities, and project turnover.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent leading commercial construction projects.
• Proven success managing ground-up construction projects.
• Experience with Healthcare, Manufacturing, Aviation, Industrial, or Large Commercial Facilities.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, site logistics, sequencing, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain accountability across subcontractor teams.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate teams and keep projects moving forward.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Stable work history with demonstrated success and tenure with previous employers.
