Job summary

Rockwell Sterling is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent for its Water & Wastewater Division in the Knoxville, TN area to lead field operations on municipal infrastructure projects from start to finish.

The role requires 6+ years of construction experience, prior superintendent or leadership duties, and proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, safety, and subcontractor coordination while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction experience.
• Previous role as Project Superintendent or similar field leadership.
• Experience with treatment plants, pump stations, underground utilities, or municipal infrastructure.
• Strong leadership, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor coordination.
• Commitment to safety, quality, schedule and project performance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.

We are currently working with a well-established general contractor that is looking to add an experienced Project Superintendent to their Water & Wastewater Division in the Knoxville, TN area.

This is an opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong presence in the Southeast, working on complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects while taking ownership of field operations from start to finish.

The Role:

• Lead and manage overall field operations
• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, drawings, specifications, and field activities
• Establish project budgets and monitor costs throughout construction
• Identify cost variances and implement solutions to keep projects on track
• Identify project risks and work proactively to mitigate them
• Communicate quality expectations to subcontractors and vendors
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout the project
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and applicable regulations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and productive jobsite
• Manage personnel and complete daily timekeeping
• Prepare daily reports and project logs
• Work closely with project management and other members of the project team

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of construction experience
• Previous experience as a Project Superintendent or similar field leadership position
