Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of assigned construction projects from mobilization to demobilization, ensuring quality, safety, cost control, and client satisfaction. This role acts as the on-site leader and primary point of contact between Haggerty Construction, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. The Superintendent ensures work is performed according to plans, specifications, safety standards, and schedule requirements.
Job Objectives
- Maintain project quality, safety, and compliance on-site from start to finish.
- Manage field coordination, logistics, and scheduling with all trades and serve as the project’s liaison to the client, project team, and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
- Enforce HCI’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality and specification compliance.
- Coordinate project mobilization, including HCI signage and branding.
- Manage daily activities of subcontractors, vendors, and HCI staff.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve design and field conflicts.
- Ensure demobilization is executed cleanly and thoroughly.
- Generate and complete project punch lists timely.
- Oversee cleanliness of the worksite and enforce subcontractor accountability.
- Maintain job-specific knowledge and provide general oversight for self-perform work.
- Uphold HCI’s safety policies and procedures across all jobsite personnel.
- Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings and maintain attendance records.
- Submit incident reports within 24 hours of occurrence.
- Maintain emergency medical kits and safety documentation.
- Conduct monthly vehicle inspections and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Lead regular subcontractor safety meetings and orientations.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with HCI’s Emergency Action Plan.
- Submit detailed Daily Reports with photos by Friday of each week.
- Document and communicate change orders and RFI’s to the Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings throughout the project.
- Track company tools and maintain their security and condition.
- Communicate daily with Project Manager/Coordinator and provide updates.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of HCI vehicles and job equipment.
- Maintain and update the 5-Week Look Ahead Schedule.
- Coordinate inspections with AHJs, government entities, and private agencies.
- Submit manpower requests 48 hours in advance to Production Manager.
- Schedule trades and materials with building contacts and owners.
- Participate in job start-up, closeout, and kickoff meetings.
- Document the life of the project through jobsite photos.
- Respond to emails within 24 hours; check email four times daily.
- Clearly communicate updates, issues, and project expectations to clients and the internal time.
- Represent Haggerty Construction professionally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Extensive hands-on construction experience (e.g., journeyman or foreman background).
- Advanced knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and building systems.
- Proven leadership and motivational abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project), Adobe PDF, and Procore.
Preferred/Considered
- CPR and First-Aid certified.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and climb various types of ladders.
- Able to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, or sit for extended periods.
