Job summary

System One is seeking an onsite Superintendent in Pittsburgh, PA to oversee construction operations from planning through completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring work follows specifications, schedules, and budgets while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in multi-family construction, strong English communication, blueprint reading and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Requires strong English reading and writing skills.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and schedules.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and time management.
• Experience in multi-family construction is required.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of construction site, from planning to completion.
• Coordinates subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
• Responsible for all job site safety (OSHA 10 minimum recommended).
• Possesses excellent document record keeping.
• Schedules and maintains quality control using checklists to ensure job site quality.
• Coordinates required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Identifies conflicts in construction progress and communicates them to project team for resolution.
• Walks all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
• Ensures that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
• Performs job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of experience in multi-family construction.
• General computer knowledge.
• Blueprint reading.
• Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
• Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.
• Professional / customer service attitude and appearance.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
