Job summary

Bally's Golf Link at Ferry Point in Bronx, NY is seeking a motivated Superintendent to lead golf course operations, budgeting, reporting, and staff development. This role directly supports a high-quality guest experience and adheres to agronomic and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Agronomy, significant leadership experience, and relevant licenses, with a commitment to safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy preferred; five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading a team as Head Golf Course Superintendent preferred; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Bally's Golf Link at Ferry Point, located in Bronx, NY, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. Please note: This position is not employed by Troon; rather, the selected candidate will be employed directly by Bally's.

Essential Duties:

• Develops budgeting and capital plans. Manages expenses within the department in accordance with the property directive.
• Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested, or required by the President.
• Maintains a clear understanding of and implements golf course maintenance standards in addition to ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory standards/laws.
• Stays abreast of current agronomic information.
• Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemical/fertilizers used on the course.
• Ensures that they and all associates obtain proper training and/or licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations. Addresses directly all real or perceived environmental concerns.
• Maintains ongoing awareness of all agronomic activity on the course and provides constant feedback and direction to key staff members.
• Ensures both upward and downward communication within the department and inter-departmentally.
• Provides leadership and a positive working environment that fosters teamwork, communication, ethical behavior, cleanliness and a "can do" attitude.
• Develops, trains, coaches, disciplines and mentors managers within the department providing feedback, direction and leadership so that they may carry out the daily activities of the department, all while grooming them for upward mobility within the company.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (BA) in Agronomy preferred; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience leading a team as Head Golf Course Superintendent preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally stands and walks; climbs or balances; tastes or smells. Regularly sits; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands. Frequently talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

• Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather); may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles as well as toxic or caustic chemicals; may experience vibration. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate to loud.

Certificates/Licenses:

• State Pesticide Applicator License, Valid Driver's License
