Job summary

Insight Executive Solutions is partnering with a well-established New Jersey General Contractor to hire a Construction Superintendent for ground-up multifamily and mixed-use projects. This NJ-based role offers up to $180,000 plus benefits and a strong project pipeline, with a focus on minimizing NYC commuting.

You will oversee day-to-day field operations from mobilization through completion, coordinate subcontractors and inspectors, review drawings and specs, maintain schedules, and enforce

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar
• Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or large-scale projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site operations
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and project schedules
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• NJ & NY construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day construction of ground-up mixed-use and multifamily projects
• Manage site operations from mobilization through completion
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
• Maintain project schedules and ensure key milestones are met
• Manage site logistics, sequencing, manpower, and daily construction activities
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Conduct regular site walks and monitor progress across all trades
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, design team, subcontractors, and ownership
• Review drawings, plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule, budget, or quality
• Maintain strong safety standards across the jobsite
• Oversee inspections, punch list, closeout, and turnover

Multifamily & Mixed Use New Construction Projects

Location: New Jersey

Salary: Up to $180,000 + benefits

I am currently working with a well-established New Jersey General Contractor specializing in ground-up mixed-use and multifamily construction. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to add experienced Superintendents to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Superintendent with strong ground-up construction experience to join an established NJ-based GC and work on substantial mixed-use and multifamily developments closer to home, without the daily commute into NYC.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day construction of ground-up mixed-use and multifamily projects
• Manage site operations from mobilization through completion
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
• Maintain project schedules and ensure key milestones are met
• Manage site logistics, sequencing, manpower, and daily construction activities
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Conduct regular site walks and monitor progress across all trades

The Ideal Superintendent

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent (open to speaking to experienced Assistant Superintendents)
• Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or similar large-scale projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site operations
• Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors and trades
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and project schedules
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven ability to lead a project from mobilization through completion
• NJ & NY construction experience preferred
