ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a nationally established heavy civil and infrastructure general contractor renowned for delivering complex, high-profile transportation assets across the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern Seaboard. Backed by global operational strength and deep engineering pedigree, the firm specializes in landmark bridge construction, complex structural rehabilitation, major highway corridors, tunnels, and large-scale public-private partnerships (P3).

Fabr Global is seeking an experienced Demolition Superintendent to lead high-stakes bridge and structural dismantling operations. Safety, engineered precision, and aggressive schedule velocity define their operating philosophy. In this critical field leadership role, you will orchestrate complex dismantling sequences over active waterways, high-density traffic arteries, and operating rail corridors, backed by advanced machinery, dedicated teams, and comprehensive operational resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FIELD LEADERSHIP
  • Direct all on-site demolition methods, equipment mobilization, sequencing plans, and labor allocations to ensure rapid, zero-incident execution.
  • Supervise and direct trade foremen, rigging crews, equipment operators, and specialized subcontractors across multi-shift project demands.
  • In partnership with the Project Manager, build, monitor, and drive milestone schedules, baseline dates, and critical path demolition activities.
  • Enforce strict OSHA and corporate safety standards, conduct daily hazard assessments, lead weekly toolbox talks, and maintain zero-incident job sites.
  • Interpret engineered lift plans, demolition shielding specs, and temporary shoring drawings to solve field constructability challenges.

  • Maintain clear, proactive coordination with DOT representatives, owner inspectors, railroad safety flaggers, and marine authorities.
  • Train emerging Foremen and mentor assigned Field Project Engineers in demolition best practices.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8–10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including at least 5+ years in a Superintendent or Lead Foreman role dedicated to bridge and structural demolition.
  • Proven track record dismantling concrete bridges, multi-girder steel spans, truss structures, substructures, pier caps, and engineered demolition shielding systems.
  • Extensive experience managing demolition directly adjacent to or over Class I railroads, heavy vehicular/pedestrian traffic corridors, and active marine waterways.
  • Expertise in engineered crane rigging, high-reach hydraulic excavators, hoe-rams, wire sawing systems, mechanical shearing, and temporary support structures.
  • Strong ability to read construction plan sets, understand CPM schedules, track change orders, and maintain digital daily records (HCSS HeavyJob).
TRAVEL & FIELD EXPECTATIONS
  • Regional travel across the Eastern Seaboard (primarily Mid-Atlantic and Southeast corridors).
  • Deployed on-site Monday through Friday, aligned with critical bridge closure windows and project milestones.
  • Company-provided vehicle and fuel card (or commercial flights), 100% covered premium hotel lodging, and full daily per diem.
  • All-weather outdoor job sites. Ability to navigate uneven terrain, inspect structures, and wear standard heavy civil PPE.
