The Superintendent leads daily field operations for federal construction projects, coordinating subcontractors, quality control, safety, schedule, and site logistics to deliver work in compliance with contract requirements. The successful candidate brings strong leadership, communicates effectively with government and project stakeholders, and represents Sauer professionally.
This position requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as stooping, bending, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and stairs, and operating trucks or construction equipment. The employee must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry objects frequently and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, wind, and rain. Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and industry practices, along with proven leadership and supervisory capability, is required.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field; at least 10 years of Quality Control Manager experience on federal construction projects; and demonstrated superintendent experience managing subcontractors, schedules, safety, and field operations on Department of Defense projects.
Quality Control Responsibilities: Lead and administer project quality control activities in accordance with contract requirements and applicable federal agency procedures. Coordinate preparatory, initial, and follow-up control phases; review submittals and testing requirements; maintain quality documentation; identify deficiencies; and verify that corrective actions are completed before work proceeds.
