Job summary

Megawatt Construction, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee complex commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will manage base building, concrete, structural shell, interior CSA, MEP systems, commissioning, and turnover.

This leadership role requires mentoring field teams, maintaining client relationships, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget, with experience on $100M+ ventures.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of commercial construction experience.
Experience managing projects valued at $100 million or greater.
Strong knowledge of concrete, structural shell, CSA construction, MEP systems, commissioning, and project closeout.
Experience leading large field teams and Design-Build project delivery.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to mentor construction professionals and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day field operations for assigned projects.
Drive project schedules and coordinate all field activities.
Oversee CSA and MEP construction activities including commissioning.
Mentor Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Foremen.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.

The ideal candidate is an expert in all phases of construction including base building, concrete, structural shell, interior CSA, MEP systems, commissioning, and turnover. This leader will mentor field teams, manage project schedules, maintain client relationships, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone who has successfully managed large-scale commercial or mission-critical construction projects, including projects valued at $100M+.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

Lead day-to-day field operations for assigned projects
Manage multiple projects or large-scale construction projects simultaneously
Drive project schedules and coordinate all field activities
Conduct daily site walks and monitor project progress
Ensure successful project commissioning and closeout
Review project schedules during weekly planning meetings

Safety

Champion an injury-free safety culture
Conduct weekly site safety inspections
Lead project safety initiatives and training
Partner with the safety committee to implement company safety policies

Team Leadership

Mentor Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Foremen
Build and develop high-performing project teams
Foster a positive company culture
Provide coaching, leadership, and performance guidance
Address employee concerns with professionalism and empathy

Client & Business Development

Serve as the primary field contact for clients
Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and engineers
Participate in networking and business development opportunities
Assist with RFP responses, logistics planning, and project pursuits
Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients

Construction Management

Oversee CSA and MEP construction activities
Coordinate Design-Build project execution
Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and owners
Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation
Lead pull-planning and scheduling efforts
Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives

Required Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of commercial construction experience
Experience managing projects valued at $100 million or greater
Strong knowledge of:
- Concrete
- Structural shell

- MEP systems
- Commissioning
- Project closeout
Experience leading large field teams
Strong understanding of Design-Build project delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in:

Journeyman certification
Data Center construction experience
