Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage large-scale or complex projects with safety, quality, and schedule focus.

Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist in finding a Superintendent for their Houston office. As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing field operations, ensuring quality control, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and delivering successful commercial construction projects from start to finish.

About the Company

A well-established general contractor with approximately 50 employees, specializing in both Corporate Interior Tenant Improvements and Ground-Up Industrial Construction throughout the Houston market.

Position Overview:

The Superintendent will have a proven track record of successfully delivering commercial interior and/or ground-up projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and schedule performance. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership and oversight for all phases of assigned construction projects.
• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and quality.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation to support effective site management and coordination.
• Implement and execute Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
• Conduct site inspections and proactively address construction challenges.
• Promote and maintain an injury‑free work environment through strict adherence to company safety standards and initiatives.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, owners, and trade partners to ensure project success.
• Lead daily field operations while maintaining strong communication across all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
• Experience with Corporate Interiors, Office Tenant Improvements, Healthcare Interiors, Medical Office Projects, Occupied Renovations, and/or Ground-Up Industrial Projects (warehouses, distribution centers, storage facilities).
• Proven record of success managing large-scale and/or complex commercial construction projects.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Proficiency with construction management technology; Procore experience is highly preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
