Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

The Superintendent provides on-site field management through planning, coordination, and supervision of craft employees and trade contractors to ensure the project is constructed in a safe and organized manner. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Communicate and enforce Prime’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a Zero Incidents safety culture through own actions
  • Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor forces
  • Inspection of contractor or (sub)contract operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Develop and maintain site logistical plans, in coordination with Client & Project Manager
  • Review, receive and verify submitted materials upon delivery and verify correct installation
  • Assures necessary permits are secured & coordinates site testing and inspection efforts
  • Monitors costs, including self-perform labor time and materials
  • Attend and lead in project meetings, including subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Reviews and verifies all Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Assist in development in job-safety plans (SWPPP, Hazcom, Safety, etc.)
  • Manages schedules and ensure all project activities finish on-time or ahead of scheduled dates
  • May assist with soliciting, receiving, and preparing quotations/change orders
  • Create daily reports and report quantities and time for Prime craft workers
  • Direct Project Engineers and/or site survey teams as required
  • Coordinate and complete project close-out and punch lists
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Experience in any other construction-related fields a plus, but not required.
  • Experience within K-12 construction or Commerical Renovations a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Construction Management or Engineering a plus, but not required.
  • 3 years minimum of industry experience required
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to travel daily to sites within the greater Houston area required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
