Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC seeks a Superintendent to oversee field teams on fire protection projects. You will coordinate multiple departments, ensure safety policies, and maintain strong client communication on-site and in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project management to confirm design accuracy before work starts.
  • Order and schedule delivery of all equipment for projects.
  • Serve as the main on-site communication link between field and office.
  • Manage field staff schedules and timecards; provide on-site leadership.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints; ensure safety policies are followed.
  • Review progress to meet deadlines and report results promptly.

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.The Superintendent is responsible for supporting the oversight of performance of the field staff for a variety of projects, which can involve either fire sprinkler, fire alarm, portables, KEC, or any other departments in the organization. They coordinate the work of different departments involved in a project. Their oversight will ensure that our field employees are taken care of, and our clients’ needs are met.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Liaising with project management teams to ensure that the project design is accurate before work commences.Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all equipment needed for the project.Acting as the main point of communication between the main field and the office.Managing the work schedules and timecards for all field staff.Providing leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties.Investigating and resolving customer complaints.Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to.Reviewing project progress to ensure that deadlines are met.Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely mannerProtect and maintain company equipment.Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.Respond to emergency service callsMaintain a clean and safe workspacePerform other duties assigned by management.Education/Qualification:A high school education or equivalent preferredIndustry experienceTroubleshooting skills.Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.Must be flexible with scheduling requirements that occasionally will require evening, weekend and/or out-of-town assignments.Requires the ability to display knowledge of principles and practices of life safety.Requires the ability to display knowledge of codes and regulations related to the work.Requires the ability to display knowledge of basic practices of reviewing official documents for completeness and accuracy.Requires the ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs.Requires the ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.Requires the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.Benefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesPye-Barker Fire & Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
