Field Leadership and Daily Site Management
- Serve as the primary on-site representative of the general contractor.
- Direct and coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel.
- Maintain an organized, productive, and professional jobsite.
- Monitor work for compliance with construction documents and industry best practices.
- Conduct daily site walks to identify progress, safety concerns, and quality issues.
- Validate subcontractor work plans and ensure adequate manpower on site.
- Provide direction and support to subcontractors to resolve field issues.
- Verify work completion for pay applications and change orders.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for safety, quality, and schedule commitments.
Scheduling and Production Management
- Develop, update, and maintain the 3-week look-ahead schedule in coordination with the PM.
- Ensure subcontractors understand schedule expectations and manpower needs.
- Identify and resolve schedule conflicts or delays.
- Coordinate and sequence trades to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
Safety Management
- Lead and enforce all jobsite safety protocols and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
- Perform regular safety inspections and correct unsafe practices or conditions.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and proper documentation (JSAs, permits, incident reports).
- Work closely with the Safety Manager on audits, training, and incident investigations.
Site Logistics and Resource Management
- Develop and manage the site logistics plan, including material deliveries, equipment layout, storage, and traffic flow.
- Coordinate cranes, lifts, and specialty equipment.
- Oversee material handling, protection, and inventory.
- Manage temporary facilities, utilities, fencing, and erosion control measures.
Quality Control
- Review installation methods and materials for adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure that work meets specifications, drawings, and submittal requirements.
- Identify deficiencies early and coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors.
- Maintain a clean jobsite and enforce site housekeeping.
Communication and Documentation
- Lead daily/weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and field teams.
- Communicate clearly with Project Manager about progress, schedule impacts, manpower, and issues.
- Maintain detailed daily reports (manpower, weather, activities, issues, deliveries).
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, ASIs, and drawing updates in the field.
- Communicate project goals and expectations to all on-site personnel.
- temporary facilities, utilities, fencing, and erosion control measures.
Inspections, Testing and Closeout
- Coordinate inspections with AHJs, third-party inspectors, and consultants.
- Ensure testing (concrete, soils, MEP systems, etc.) is scheduled and documented.
- Manage punchlist creation, execution, and verification.
- Support project turnover, O&M manuals, and project closeout activities.
