Job summary

B&S Site Development in Atlanta seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations on large, time-sensitive civil projects. You will manage multiple active job sites, coordinate crews and subcontractors, review drawings, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with a sharp focus on safety.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in site development or heavy civil construction, strong leadership, and solid communication. OSHA knowledge and a valid driver’s license are required; OSHA 30 preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction.
• 3+ years supervisory experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and documents.
• Knowledge of grading, utilities, stormwater, and paving.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
• Excellent organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
• Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office).
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Role Description

Superintendents are responsible for managing the field operations across multiple active job sites. The role requires advanced knowledge of heavy civil construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to solving problems. The Superintendent will be responsible for project execution, safety, scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, and ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.

Superintendent Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily site operations and ensure project milestones are met.
• Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure work is performed according to design, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Monitor safety compliance and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Communicate daily with project managers regarding progress, issues, and solutions.
• Lead and mentor foremen and field crews to promote productivity and accountability.
• Manage inspections, testing, and documentation required by municipalities or clients.
• Identify potential risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records including daily reports, timecards, and material logs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting civil plans and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of grading, utility installation, stormwater management, and paving.
• Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to lead and motivate field personnel effectively.
• Excellent organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Competency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, project management software).
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 30 Certification strongly preferred.
