Job summary

B&S Site Development is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple active job sites in Virginia. You will drive project execution, safety, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination to keep milestones on track and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of heavy civil construction, and the ability to interpret complex civil plans. A valid license and OSHA familiarity are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting civil plans and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of grading, utility installation, stormwater management, and paving.
• Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to lead and motivate field personnel effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily site operations and ensure project milestones are met.
• Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure work is performed according to design, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Monitor safety compliance and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Communicate daily with project managers regarding progress, issues, and solutions.
• Lead and mentor foremen and field crews to promote productivity and accountability.
• Manage inspections, testing, and documentation required by municipalities or clients.
• Identify potential risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records including daily reports, timecards, and material logs.

Role Description

Superintendents are responsible for managing the field operations across multiple active job sites. The role requires advanced knowledge of heavy civil construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
