Job summary

MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville, NC is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead on-site activities, supervise subcontractors, and ensure projects meet drawings, specs, and schedules.

The role requires coordinating with the project manager, monitoring safety, manpower, and quality, and proactively resolving issues with architects, engineers, and owner representatives to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years commercial construction supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate subcontractor performance.
• Basic computer skills; construction software experience favored.

Position Summary

The Superintendent will supervise all subcontractors and work closely with the project manager on each job site. TYPICAL DUTIES: Supervises subcontractors and provides a liaison between the architects, engineers, owner's representatives, inspectors, and trades to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications. Plans the work schedule, holds job site meetings, monitors manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements. Oversees work performance and productivity of trades to ensure the schedule, project rules, procedures, safety requirements, and inspections are maintained. Advises the project manager of potential problems, scheduling difficulties, and work interferences, and is proactive in circumventing/resolving such problems as required. Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction, and some limited hands-on labor duties may occasionally be required.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Must pass criminal background check and Pre-employment drug screening.
• Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience in a supervisory capacity required.
• Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations, architectural/structural/PME drawings, and other documents.
• Basic computer skills required; construction software experience favored.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate subcontractor performance is essential.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
