Job summary

A community service organization in Albuquerque seeks a Resident Assistant to support residents in acclimatizing to the community and encourage their journey toward self-sufficiency. Job description

General Responsibility and Authority

The resident assistant lives onsite and supports residents in acclimatizing to the community, encourages and mentors residents in their journey toward self‑sufficiency, and promotes harmony in relationships among residents and between residents and property management and resident services staff.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Listens to any concerns or issues residents may have and communicates these to leadership.
  • Prepares for and participates in residents’ first week onsite, including creating activities to engage new residents, and conducting an orientation for them to the community.
  • Helps residents stay informed about activities and opportunities to encourage resident engagement.
  • Addresses any concerns residents may have with other residents and acts as a moderator to solve any problems.
  • Stays up to date with property rules to ensure residents are following them at all times.
  • Holds regular meetings with the residents they oversee and plans fun, engaging activities to help residents connect.
  • Services and maintains a list of available services.
  • Identifies needed community.
  • Acts as community liaison for specified activities.
