Job summary

Granlibakken Tahoe is seeking a morning cook in Tahoe City, CA. The role runs from 6:00am to 2:30pm and focuses on breakfast service, quality presentation, and precise cooking practices.

You will follow established recipes, coordinate with servers, and ensure proper food temperatures and sanitation throughout service. A culinary education or apprenticeship and at least 1 year of restaurant experience are preferred, along with a Food Handler's card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Culinary school degree, completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience will be preferred but not required.
• Experience: As a professional cook preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience cooking at a restaurant or full-service hotel.
• Culinary school 2-4 year degree preferred.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays depending on business needs.
• Food Handler's card required.

Responsibilities

• Cook breakfast using established production procedures under supervision.
• Prepare all food following standard recipes and diet orders.
• Determine food quantities using production systems.
• Learn menus, recipes, preparation and presentation.
• Plan production to align with meal serving hours.
• Prep food for next shift and following day.
• Maintain sanitation and personal hygiene standards.
• Keep work areas clean and equipment clean.
• Communicate with dining room staff and supervisor.
• Ensure quality of food and control waste and timing.
• All kitchen staff may work in all food areas as needed.
• Assist in prep for next service.
