Job summary

CJK Group in Wisconsin is seeking an entry-level to mid-level press operations helper as part of a four-step progression. You will assist with press setup, ink management, plate loading, and quality checks while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and willingness to progress to higher levels by gaining experience and covering shifts as needed. Training will prepare you for advancement within Sheridan’s production environment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with press operations required.
• Ability to actively participate in production-related activities and follow direction of leads and supervisors.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Type II Forklift certification.
• Knowledge of arithmetic and English language basics.
• Ability to work independently with little direction and follow up to complete assignments.
• Ability to understand work instructions, processes, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to complete work and paperwork accurately and neatly following procedures.
• Demonstrates initiative, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies and work rules.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts.
• Prompt and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with press operations including bundling, roll tending, make-ready, register, color, and maintenance.
• Assist in achieving and monitoring quality of signatures, color balance, and registration.
• Prepare and load paper and ensure correct plates are used when needed.
• Monitor press activities with focus on preventative maintenance and quality improvements.
• Maintain ink levels, ink types, and ink pumps; manage fountain solution levels and conductivity.
• During make-ready, wipe blankets, change paper and ink, and clean the area around the press.
• Mount plates/blankets and perform maintenance on press equipment as needed.
• Produce and label samples or customer copies as specified.
• Clean and maintain department; support team to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Aim to be a positive role model and promote Sheridan’s core values and safety policies.
