Job summary

The Broadmoor is seeking a Summit Bartender to manage an extensive wine and spirits list and provide attentive service at the bar. You will ensure upscale dining with precise cocktails, pairing guidance, and close coordination with kitchen and floor staff.

Your role requires advanced mixology and wine pairing knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, and offerings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous hospitality or upscale bartending experience preferred; relevant education/background considered.
• Advanced mixology, wine pairing, and spirit heritage.

Responsibilities

• Mix classic and craft cocktails with precise measurements and garnishes.
• Greet guests, take orders, and recommend wines, spirits, and pairings.
• Fulfill drink orders promptly for bar and dining room guests.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, wine lists, and allergens.
• Monitor stock levels, inventory, and keep the bar clean and organized.
• Ensure responsible service and adherence to health/sanitation rules.
• Coordinate with serving staff and kitchen for accurate timing.
• Report tips per IRS guidelines.

Job Title: Bartender

Job Department: Summit

Job Pay Range: $23.00 - $32.00 / hour (Inclusive of hourly pay rate + service charge)

• Breakdown: Based on $6.50 per hour base wage + service charge commission paid per shift; historically, this position averages service charge commission earnings of $17.00 - $26.00 per hour. Service charges fluctuate based on the time of year.
• This position always earns at least the current Colorado minimum wage $15.16 per hour.

Job Summary:

As a "Summit" Bartender, you will manage an extensive wine and spirits list, and provide attentive, personalized service to guests at the bar. Maintain strict cleanliness, guide guests through food-and-drink pairings, and work closely with the kitchen and floor staff to ensure an upscale dining experience. Learn more about Broadmoor here.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Mix classic and craft cocktails with precise measurements, proper glassware, and sophisticated garnishes.
• Greet bar guests warmly, take drink orders, and offer expert recommendations on wine, spirits, and menu pairings.
• Promptly fulfill drink orders for dining room servers while managing full service for guests seated directly at the bar.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the restaurant’s entire food menu, seasonal or daily specials, wine lists, and allergen information.
• Monitor stock levels, handle precise daily inventory, and keep bar impeccably clean, polished, and organized.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption responsibly and adhere to all health and sanitation rules.
• Communicate with serving staff and kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of orders and proper timing of service.
• Know the table numbers and pivot points for all areas of the restaurant.
• Report tips in accordance with IRS regulations.
• Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
• Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Previous experience in hospitality or upscale bartending is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
• Advanced mixology, wine pairing, and spirit heritage.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
• A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
