Job summary

Northfield Public Schools is seeking part-time, temporary Summer Instructor Assistants for the Northfield Community Education Center from June 3 to August 31, 2026. Positions begin 06/03/2026; pay rate is $15.02 to $16.37 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Instructors will attend staff training on the evening of June 3rd
• Instructors will follow the lead of the program supervisor, and will assist with programming.
• Instructors will arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
• Instructors will show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-verbal's.
• Instructors will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
• Instructors will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.
• Instructors will be required to fill in for up to two Saturday swim lessons or two evening swim lessons (if aquatics staff).
