Job summary

Admiral Insurance Group invites applications for a 10-week Summer Underwriting Intern program based in Austin, TX. You will learn underwriting processes, assist with renewal accounts, and support analytical tasks under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Risk Management and Insurance, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, rising junior or senior, and strong MS Office skills. Remote/hybrid work options are available during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance, or a related program/field preferred.
• GPA of 3.0 and above required.
• Rising Junior or Senior student preferred.
• Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry.
• Prior work experience is preferred.
• Career interest in Underwriting and Excess and Surplus Lines.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Learn the evaluation and pricing of Admiral renewal business in accordance with service standards, objectives, and Admiral underwriting guidelines.
• Apply strong analytical skills in learning underwriting processes and renewal account servicing.
• Participate in a collaborative group project with interns from other Admiral departments.
• Work independently on a remote and/or hybrid in-person schedule throughout the summer months.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business partners.
• Complete other duties and assignments as part of the overall internship experience.
