Job summary

WSP USA is offering a Summer Internship in Transportation Engineering in Philadelphia/Exton, PA. This 12-week program starts May 17, 2027 and provides hands-on project exposure, mentorship, and real responsibilities alongside senior staff.

Interns participate in research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and cost estimate preparation, while developing technical and ethical skills. No housing assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Transportation Engineering or related field and desire to advance skills related to WSP's work.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
• Uphold workplace safety and comply with health, safety and drug/alcohol policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Assist a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Transportation Engineering.
• Aid with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and company policies.
