Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Traffic Engineering Intern in Philadelphia, PA, for a spring-summer co-op. You must be enrolled in Civil Engineering and able to work in the United States, with an anticipated August 2027 graduation or later.

The role offers exposure to traffic studies, safety analyses, and transportation design tasks under supervision of senior staff. Compensation is hourly, with a range of $23.90–$31.11 per hour.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with anticipated Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in civil engineering and desire to develop skills on real projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic engineering and transportation planning projects: studies, modal planning, modeling, and planning reports.
• Contribute to road safety projects: RSA, crash analysis, safety planning.
• Assist with transportation design: signal timing, markings, signing, ITS design.
• Support field work, preliminary design calculations, and project documentation.
• Prepare final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Participate in training and adhere to company policies and safety standards.
• Occasional travel may be required; no relocation housing provided.
• Help maintain project records and assist senior staff as needed.
