Job summary

WSP USA invites interns for the Summer Internship Program in Pennsylvania. The Bridge Inspection group in Exton, PA seeks a full-time intern currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or related undergraduate/graduate program.

The 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, with flexible start; no relocation housing assistance. As an intern you will support engineering tasks, learn basics of Civil Engineering, assist with research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and help prepare final design

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in bridge inspection and desire to develop skills related to WSP’s work.
• Strong written and verbal communication when addressing engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Proficient with standard office software and technical writing.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Preferred: Masters or PhD in Civil Engineering with graduation date December 2027 or later.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
