Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Traffic/Electrical and Highways Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Transportation Group in Bloomfield, NJ or Mt. Laurel, NJ offices. This internship offers hands-on project experience and opportunities to work with engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects.

Current students pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering will contribute to field investigations, traffic analysis, and design tasks while learning planning and design concepts and cost

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• MicroStation experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Task Management and leadership skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects.
• Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks.
• Ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities.

Salary Range

$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands‑on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full‑time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:
