Job summary

DLR Group's Cleveland studio is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern as part of our EPX program, designed to give you a meaningful start in the AEC industry. As a Summer Intern, you will contribute to the design of structural systems for buildings of various types, sizes, and complexities, working with licensed engineers and professionals across disciplines.

The internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027 and is paid and full-time.

Qualifications

Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering program.
Experience or interest in BIM workflow (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP).
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam (preferred).
Third-year student in an accredited engineering program.

Responsibilities

Work with a licensed engineer designing structural systems for new construction and/or building renovation projects.
Attend design team meetings with a structural engineer and observe the coordination among multi-disciplinary team members.
Assist a structural engineer with the design and development of construction documents primarily using Revit.
Visit an active construction site (contingent on local project status).
Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other disciplines.
