Degenkolb Engineers is offering a summer internship for civil or structural engineering students that complements academic training with hands‑on project work. Qualifications

• Must be a continuing student enrolled through Fall 2027.
• Current full‑time Civil Engineering Senior planning to transition into a Structural Engineering graduate program in Fall 2027.
• Current first‑year Graduate student in multi‑year Structural Engineering master’s or Ph.D. program.
• Required coursework: Structural Analysis, Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete Design.
• Academic performance: GPA 3.40 minimum; strong graduate coursework where applicable.
• Technical focus: seismic analysis West Coast or steel design Michigan offices.
• Leadership or involvement in ASCE/SEI or related activities.
• Work authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced engineers on active projects, applying classroom concepts.
• Contribute to structural engineering projects with meaningful tasks.
• Learn from mentors through feedback and context on project decisions.
• Attend firmwide sessions and engage with leaders across offices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build relationships across practice areas.
