Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College invites applications for a Part-Time Trio Summer Academy Science instructor. The six-week assignment runs June–July, with planning meetings starting in June. Expected teaching hours are about 12–15 per week, 1:00 pm–3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science and experience teaching science to youth, plus ability to work with diverse populations. Master’s degree and Trio program experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Experience teaching Science to high school and/or college students.
• Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Science to high school students (9th–12th).
• Monitors and logs student attendance, behavior, and progress.
• Develops daily lesson plans and formative & summative assessments.
• Maintains class syllabi and grade reports.
• Provides a comprehensive written summary for each class.
• Develops engaging, hands-on lessons to facilitate teaching and learning.
