Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the summer in Omaha, NE. You will build real features for our platform, work with experienced engineers, and ship code that matters to construction professionals.

You'll gain hands-on experience across design, development, testing and debugging, participate in agile ceremonies, and learn to use AI-assisted tools like Claude to accelerate coding while delivering quality work.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in CS or related field.
• Interest in software engineering and learning new tools.
• Experience with AI tools in coursework or projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications for Buildertrend's platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs and QA from concept to release.
• Write clean, documented code in Buildertrend's tech stack.
• Build features that help customers manage projects.
• Participate in code reviews and learn from seniors.
• Troubleshoot with guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives).
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding while ensuring quality.
• Complete tasks within sprint timelines.
