Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Product Security Intern in Omaha, Nebraska for a part-time summer role. You will work with security engineers to learn how security is integrated into the software development lifecycle and gain hands-on experience with application and cloud security tools.

You will triage SAST/DAST results, investigate vulnerabilities, review OAuth and RBAC implementations, and participate in cloud security posture reviews across GCP and Azure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, mathematics, physics, or engineering.
• Strong interest in product security and learning to apply security practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running and triaging SAST/DAST results under senior engineers.
• Investigate vulnerabilities and document confirmed findings.
• Review authentication/authorization implementations (OAuth 2.0, RBAC).
• Support cloud security posture reviews in GCP and Azure, including IAM and storage controls.
• Contribute to CI/CD security pipelines and secure code reviews.
