Job summary

Buildertrend Solutions, Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Intern to work onsite in Omaha, NE this summer. You will design, develop, test and maintain software features for Buildertrend's platform and ship code used by construction professionals daily.

You will collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers and QA, pair with senior engineers, and learn Agile practices while using AI tools like Claude to accelerate coding under guidance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• Available to work full-time onsite at the Buildertrend HQ in Omaha, NE, for the full summer.
• Experience with AI tools (such as Claude, Copilot) or keen interest to learn.
• Familiarity with C#/.NET, Java, and React.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications that support Buildertrend's platform.
• Partner with Software Engineers, Product Managers and QA to take features from concept to release.
• Write clean, well-documented code using languages and frameworks within Buildertrend's tech stack.
• Build and improve features that directly impact how customers manage their projects.
• Participate in code reviews to strengthen code quality and learn from senior team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance from Senior Software Engineers.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude, to accelerate coding, debugging and problem-solving workflows.
