Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Simi Valley/Huntsville/Pottstown/San Luis Obispo and other U.S. locations is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for a 12-week, onsite program designed to provide hands-on aerospace software experience.

You will work with AV teams on real-world projects across ground control, data pipelines, and simulation tools, applying Python, C++, and Java in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge in Python, C++, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Develop tools and applications supporting AV robotics and aerospace platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers across software, hardware, and systems teams to test capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and version control workflows.
• Help develop scripts to automate team workflows and improve efficiency.
• Learn Agile development practices and estimate development effort.
