Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) offers a 2027 Summer Internship Program for graduate students in AI, CS/Tech, or related fields. You will build features in production apps, work with Angular/TypeScript, Java, and CI/CD, and explore AI-enabled engineering with Python and LLMs.

You will contribute to platform operations, data pipelines, and observability dashboards, with housing assistance and on-site work in Carmel, IN or Eagan, MN.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development experience.
• Familiarity with modern development workflows (CI/CD, containers).
• Exposure to AI/LLMs and prompt engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build features in production applications and services, partnering with engineers, shipping code.
• Explore AI-enabled engineering: Python, GitHub workflows, generative AI/LLMs, and agent frameworks.
• Contribute to data pipelines, observability dashboards, and automated remediation workflows.
• Present project work and recommendations at internship end.
