Job summary

Holland America-Princess invites energetic individuals to join our Juneau-based summer sled dog operations. As a Sled Dog Handler you’ll help Mushers and ensure guest safety while managing dog yards during helicopter tours on glaciers around Juneau and Skagway. No experience is required.

Must be legally able to work in the U.S., and have CPR and First Aid. You must be able to lift 50 lbs. Season runs May through September with an end-of-season bonus; monthly pay ranges from $2,400 to $3,500 plus

Qualifications

• Legally able to work in the United States.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain guest safety and assist Mushers with dog yards.
• Assist Mushers in conducting safe tours.
• Feed, water, clean and inspect dogs daily.
• Work throughout the camp and dog yards as needed.
• Unload/load guests and supplies from the helicopter.
• Photograph action shots of guests on sleds.
• May be assigned different duties at the Camp Manager’s discretion.
• Cuddle puppies!!
